Rush is an acquired taste. If you play alone, be prepared for an unstable experience. Some of your random teammates may drag out the match, while others won’t return to defense even under the threat of losing. Sometimes it’s fun, sometimes it’s annoying. But if you gather your four friends and agree on who plays what role — one in defense, one in attack, a couple in the center — then the experience is completely different. Tactical Revolution in EA Sports FC 25

Each player has his usual roles, and if he is especially good in one of them, then in the menu it is marked with two green pluses. It’s like a hidden talent – you just need to activate it. Let’s say Alexis McAllister from Liverpool has an ideal role – box-to-box. If you assign it to your lineup, he will open up to his full potential, controlling the center of the field and working on both sides. But you can also give him a more reserved role of “holding” – and he will cope with it too. It all depends on what task you want to assign him.
As soon as you assemble your first clear team for online, do not be lazy to go to the tactics menu. It is better to immediately adjust one or two schemes to suit yourself and assign roles that really work with your players. This is especially important, because the roles are tied not to a specific player, but to a position on the field. Change, say, Di Maria to Ousmane Dembele – and you will have to review the role again, because the players are different in style and movements. Only manual adjustment will help to squeeze the maximum out of each newcomer.
Those who are not lazy to delve into these details will definitely get an advantage. Many opponents in UT still play according to a template, and this is evident. Especially now that the AI has become smarter: attacking players open up much more actively, make competent runs and create chances. True, there is still a gap in defense – defenders are often late, move strangely and, despite their speed indicators, lose sprints. Even such monsters as Van de Ven or Tomori look slow – as if their wings were clipped.
But it is worth giving credit to the ease of control. Tactics are changed right during the match using the cross. There are also game tips that tell you how best to act at a particular moment: if you need to hold the score – turn on the “bus”, if you want to break the opponent’s defense – try “tiki-taka”. There are other options, such as gegenpressing or quick counterattacks. Everything is simple, fast and effective – especially for those who do not want to spend hours on manual settings.
FC 25 Player Upgrades, Market Changes, and Stadium Additions
Otherwise, EA Sports doesn’t spoil us with big new features — there aren’t that many new features in the mode to really admire. The previous part introduced a player upgrade system — it allowed you to slightly improve the characteristics of individual cards. This feature was most often used to revive your favorite players. Well, let’s say you like Chiellini, but his card is a turtle in terms of speed, and it’s hard to play with him online. Then you upgraded him through the “Speed Guardian”, and he became useful on the field again. True, not all players were suitable for development then. In FC 25, this mechanic was slightly reworked: now there are restrictions on maximum stats on the cards, but many more players are available for improvement. Plus, they added cosmetics — now you can upgrade not only stats, but also the appearance of cards. If you want, make an animated one, let your favorite shine against the background of the others.
And now you can see the average price of a player on the transfer market right on the card. It’s very convenient: you can immediately see how much someone costs, and you can make the right sale. For example, my Dembele card from Barça with a rating of 86 went for 200 thousand coins – although he didn’t stand out in the game, he was highly valued on the market. They also removed contracts – that annoying legacy of past years that simply wasted your time.
In the summer, they added new rental formats: temporary and global rental. This is not a replacement for the classic 5-7 match rental, but an addition. Only if regular cards can be saved for later, then you need to play with temporary ones right away – in 4-5 days they will simply disappear. Obviously, EA came up with this so that players would log in more often, and not put off gameplay for later. So far, this idea is being tested – such cards are rare and almost never participate in tasks for selecting a squad.
Other little things: a giant stadium appeared, which perfectly emphasizes your personalization – from flags to banners and visual performances. Plus, the pre-match screensavers were updated: now the camera focuses on the stars of the team and newcomers. But the new function in Squad Battles – to show the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent before the match – did not turn out very well. For example, the game can consider the defense of Thuram, Salib, Cafu and Hernandez as the “weak link”. Which is funny, because most UT players can’t even dream of such fast and cool defenders.
What’s New in EA Sports FC 25 Gameplay
Let’s start honestly: if you were expecting a revolution on the pitch, you’ll be a little disappointed. The matches in FC 25 are painfully reminiscent of last year’s. The difference can only be noticed under a microscope. Only after a dozen matches did I begin to feel that the passes had become a little more realistic: now the accuracy of the pass depends more on the player’s skills and the situation on the pitch. For example, a pass under pressure breaks down more often – logically, but before such details were almost unnoticeable. Everything else is more cosmetic: there is no noticeable leap in physics or ball behavior, as if the developers left the main improvements for next year.
But not everything is so dull. An interesting mode with a new type of gameplay – “Simulation” – has appeared in offline modes. The pace of matches has been noticeably reduced, which makes the game more tactical, with unexpected turns of events. This is a pleasant contrast to the usual “arcade” of FIFA. Add wind speed adjustments and advanced weather effects, and you’ll remember the ball blowing away on the school field after a strong kick.
The difference is especially noticeable when you turn on one of the offline modes. Sometimes it feels like a completely different game – everything feels so new. It’s a shame that Ultimate Team is still the same: teams with fast forwards dominate, and a more thoughtful style with ball control is almost never used. The return of pre-match ceremonies is another nice little thing. In 11 vs 11 matches, we once again see the teams enter the field, the anthems are played, and the starting lineups are shown. This atmospheric introduction was sorely lacking in FC 24, where everything was crumpled and formal.

What’s especially cool is that now players in good shape are marked – and their success over the last three games is immediately visible. In FC 24, the battle pass worked exclusively in Ultimate Team. It could be upgraded and receive packs and cosmetics – everything is standard. In FC 25, it has been expanded. The new FC Hub is available in several modes at once: career, clubs and UT. Accumulated points bring rewards everywhere. Of course, most bonuses are still designed for Ultimate Team fans, but now at least there is a choice.
The Highlighter Replay system is not just replays. Now you have a full-fledged tool for creating your own football videos. Here’s what it can do:

All bugs and improvements in FC 25
FC 25 has been out for a long time, but the bugs are still alive and kicking. Despite the months that have passed since the release, the game still suffers from technical glitches — and these are not trivial matters. Hard freezes happen from time to time, goalkeepers “fall asleep” when throwing the ball in after substitutions, and the fabric on the shirts behaves as if it was caught in a wind that doesn’t exist. Some hairstyles also live their own lives — as if in a parallel reality.

Of course, such technical chaos is annoying. But it’s important not to miss the point behind all this: FC 25 is still a large project with rich content.
